About the Role - Geospatial Engineer (SAR) Key Responsibilities Process and analyze SAR and InSAR datasets for geospatial and Earth-observation applications Develop, maintain, and optimize Python-based workflows for SAR data processing and automation Perform SAR preprocessing tasks including calibration, georeferencing, co-registration, and terrain correction Conduct InSAR time-series analysis for ground deformation and surface-movement monitoring Apply polarimetric SAR techniques such polarimetric decompositions, scattering matrix to extract physical information Integrate SAR processing pipelines into cloud-based environments (Azure) Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts to deliver scalable and robust solutions Document processing methodologies, assumptions, and technical workflows clearly Essential Skills & Experience Minimum requirement of a Master's degree in Geospatial Engineering, Remote Sensing, Geomatics, Earth Observation, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline Proven hands-on experience working with SAR data Strong theoretical and practical experience in InSAR techniques, including time-series analysis Experience with polarimetric SAR analysis (single, dual, or quad polarization) Demonstrated experience using GAMMA SAR software Experience or strong familiarity with Python for data processing, automation, and workflow development Solid understanding of SAR preprocessing workflows, including: Georeferencing and co-registration Radiometric calibration and correction Speckle filtering Terrain correction and geocoding Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure Additional Desirable Attributes Experience with additional SAR software such as GMTSAR, or similar toolchains Familiarity with SAR missions and datasets including Sentinel-1, TerraSAR-X, Capella, ICEYE, or other commercial SAR platforms Application submission deadline: 02/01/2026 Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: £42,000.00-£50,000.00 per year Benefits: Casual dress Company events Company pension Cycle to work scheme Enhanced maternity leave Private medical insurance Work from home Ability to commute/relocate: Newcastle upon Tyne NE1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Experience: InSAR: 3 years (required) Work Location: In person
