Innovation at the ESA BASS Water Day Conference

Origin Tech present their Origin Orbit® poster at the ESA BASS water day conference 2026.

The event proved to be both insightful and engaging, bringing together a mix of experts, innovators, and thought leaders. Discussions throughout the event were inspiring and thought‑provoking, underlining the critical role of collaboration and innovation in addressing global water challenges across industries.

There has been particularly strong interest in the team’s presented poster on Origin Orbit® satellite leak detection, sparking valuable conversations around how the platform is being adapted to support water utilities. Attendees showed keen interest in how Origin’s satellite‑empowered AI model helps utilities overcome a range of operational challenges, particularly in identifying and addressing non-visible leaks.

The organisation continues to build strong momentum, now partnering with 12 major UK water companies and, following its international expansion, operating across eight countries to drive innovation on a global scale.

Over the past 12 months, Origin Orbit® has delivered measurable impact in improving water resilience, including:

  • 5,214 leaks identified

  • Over 100 megalitres per day (ML/d) of leakage identified

In addition, the integrated Origin Find and Fix®  solution that combines Origin Orbit® with Origin No Dig ® pipe repair technology has been highlighted as a comprehensive, end‑to‑end service. This approach enables utilities to accurately locate and repair non‑visible leaks more quickly and effectively than traditional methods.

Beyond the technical discussions, the event offered excellent networking opportunities, providing a valuable platform to connect with a wide range of knowledgeable professionals and industry peers.
