Satellite leak detection is the use of Near-Earth orbit satellites to identify water leakage. Clients can specify geographical areas of interest where leak reduction is a priority to target their search.
Origin Orbit® locates points of interest along the pipeline network where we see a combination of alerting factors, which when interpreted with our proprietary software, indicate water leakage from the pipeline.
In many cases these are non-visible leaks ie: leaks which can't be seen by eye and would not be identified by ordinary "boots on the ground" inspections. This location data is accurate within 20m and due to our unique technology is also successful where line of sight is blocked by tree and foliage growth.
What is Origin No Dig®?
Origin No Dig® is a unique patented technology, it is a food grade product specifically designed to fix potable water pipe leaks. The solution is made from water, a food grade vegan friendly gellant, and calcium carbonate particles (limestone). The material has been tested in accordance with Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) requirements and is safe to use in potable water.
How does Origin Orbit® compare?
Traditionally, leaks are detected by a process called line walking. Technicians will walk the water network and place a listening stick to a fitting to hear whether there are leaks present they have been a staple in water network maintenance for over a century
